We all say that we are going to accomplish things, whether that is to get straight A's, lose weight, stop procrastinating or create our own business. Unfortunately, most of the time people do not follow through with their goals or aspirations and will never achieve them. However, if there is one man that should be commended for their passion, persistence and perseverance, I would commend Dan Edelman.

After reading the book Dan Edelman and The Rise of Public Relations, I became increasingly aware that not all humans are wired the way that this man was wired. Dan Edelman was wired with relentless dedication and his passion eventually led to the largest public relations firm in the world. Dan Edelman created his PR firm from the ground up with his entrepreneurial spirit, intelligence and imaginative thinking. Dan once stated, "Be realistic but dare to be different."

This book gave me great insights about how Edelman Public Relations was born and what kind of man it took to make it all happen.

Our agency visit to Edelman only reaffirmed my belief that Dan Edelman was a true asset to the rise of public relations. Rick Murray, the current CEO of Edelman Chicago told us funny and interesting stories about Dan. Murray stated that Dan always insisted that you should always take notes and never go anywhere without a notebook so that you don't miss the opportunity to capture important thoughts. I thought that this was very interesting and also shows how detail oriented Dan truly was.

Dan Edelman will never be forgotten and his work will prevail through Edelman Public Relations Worldwide.
